Renovation Project Publication Visit To The Museum
 
 
Museum Puri Lukisan is located in the main street, Jalan Raya Ubud, in the cultural village in central Bali, Ubud. The cultural heartland Ubud is located 30 km from Denpasar and 40 km from the airport.
 
 
 
 
 

From Denpasar via Sayan

From the By Pass Ngurah Rai you drive to the village Batubulan until the three-junction to Mas, then you follow the sign Ubud. Just follow north for another 20 km and you pass the village Sayan until another three-junction, then turn right until you come into the main street of Ubud.

From Denpasar via Mas

At the three-junction in Batubulan, you turn right passing villages like Celuk, famous for its silver-and goldsmiths, and Mas, which is famous for its cheap art market selling many souvenirs and handicrafts. After Mas you will come into a three-junction going to the head village Gianyar of regency Gianyar, there you go straight to the north until another three-junction, then turn left passing Peliatan and come into the main street of Ubud.

From Kintamani via Bedahulu

On your way from Kintamani you only have to follow the sign to Ubud or Denpasar, then you will pass Tampaksiring, famous for its palace, built by first Indonesian president, Soekarno, while passing beautiful villages with breathtaking views of rice terraces. When you reaches Bedahulu, you will find Goa Gajah, the Elephant Cave, following the road until a three-junction, continuing the road until you come into Peliatan and the main street of Ubud.

From Kintamani via Payangan

In Kintamani before you pass the market, you will see a sign to Ubud, then turn right following the sign. Following the road you will pass the beautiful scenery through the forest and villages, coming into village Payangan until a three-junction, where you turn left until the main street of Ubud.

In Ubud
At the main street Jalan Raya Ubud, 300 m from Puri Ubud (palace of Ubud) and the local market to the west, a wooden traditional sign captures the eyes leading the visitors towards a small bridge reaches the museum entrance.
 

In the museum

The buildings, which house the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions are surrounded by lush gardens and lotus ponds for the enjoyment for the visitors. Here the beauties of nature provide a peaceful sanctuary, separated from the bustle of Ubud's main street by a bridge spanning a small brook.

Hours and admission

The museum is open daily from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., except for the Balinese holidays such as Nyepi-day and Galungan and Kuningan days. The admission is Rp.10,000 for adults. Children under 15 years accompanied by an adult are free of charge. (This policy does not apply to children in-groups)

Group visits

For group visits with more than 10 (ten) people the museum provides 50% discount. Special tour can be organized after appointment.
